We don’t breed dogs, we breed Maremma’s…
Committed to Breeding/Raising Successful Maremma Sheepdogs:
We are pedigree breeders of Maremma Sheepdogs. We strive to produce healthy, friendly, well socialised and genetically sound guardian dogs. Our farm runs a variety of livestock (pigs, cattle, sheep and goats) and poultry (chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, turkeys and peacocks). Over the years we have used Maremma Sheepdogs as guardians since owning these dogs, we have never lost any stock to predators. As a dogs NSW member and ANKC breeder, we are bound by numerous regulations and follow a code of ethics based on the best interest of the dog. Our property has been inspected and approved for breeding.
Maremma’s can be trained for a number of different roles:
Commonly they are used as a livestock guardian dog (LGD), where the dog lives as part of a flock or livestock group. In this situation they work best in pairs or more.
If they receive early socialisation during their critical window (as they do on Jumble Farm), they can be successfully trained as a companion dog, living as a member of their human family ( not as a pet). Understanding the breed is key to the success of this relationship.
Often they are trained to be companions and general farm/home guardian (guarding property, humans and a small number of animals). These dogs tend to favor their humans, but will protect all it recognizes as family.
You'll fall in love and stay in love with this independent, majestic breed.

Hercules is very much the gentleman. His imposing stature hides a kind and watchful nature. From sire Chincona Magic Dragon and dam Scintilli Tessa, Hercules’ lineage is impeccable. His deep bark warns predators near and far that the farm is no place for them to visit. See more pictures of Hercules - Our Dogs.
Demeter, a pedigree maremma from dam Bice Di Arajani (Imp. ITA) and sire Lurgenglare Lumo Romeo, has excellent international heritage. She loves to sit amongst the poultry, keeping a watchful eye on her charges. She is loving and playful with her humans. See more pictures of Demeter - Our Dogs.
About the Maremma breed:
Looks can be deceiving! Maremma Sheepdogs are so much more than their regal stance, fluffy white fur and good looks! They are smart and independent thinkers, who naturally protect those they are bonded too (livestock, poultry and people). They will defend and protect whom they are bonded with. They make their presence known to any potential threat (anything out of the ordinary) by targeted barking (they have a loud deep bark).
They don’t demand a lot of attention but do enjoy affection when it suits them! You'll fall in love and stay in love with this independent majestic breed. They are not an ordinary pet dog and cannot be kept as one. Education and understanding the Maremma breed, is essential to successfully owning this extraordinary dog.
They make their presence known to any potential threat by targeted barking (they have a loud deep bark), and because of this we believe they are completely unsuitable as a city dog (unless you can keep your dog inside). They will defend and if necessary, attack and even kill predators (foxes and wild dogs). They don’t demand a lot of attention but do enjoy affection when it suits them!
Maremma Sheepdogs are highly intelligent, they can easily learn obedience and commands, but it’s important to know they will only follow instructions when they want too!
